Dear Friends,

It is my pleasure to invite you to the Unani Day 2021 and National Conference on Unani Medicine being organized by the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine, Ministry of AYUSH on 11th February 2021 at New Delhi in hybrid virtual mode. As you are aware, 11th February has been designated for observation of Unani Day every year.

The theme of this national conference is ‘Unani Medicine: Opportunities and Challenges in times of COVID-19’. The pandemic of Covid-19 has affected the humans globally and emerged as the biggest health challenge of our times. The management of this menace is difficult as the virus varies considerably in its effects. It is known to cause inflammation and elicit an immunological response in patients with severe Covid-19 infection. In the absence of any consolidated treatment for this malady, more and more evidence based studies are warranted on prevention and patient management.

Unani Medicine has the potential to prevent infectious diseases and Unani scholars have emphasized the use of certain drugs which are known to improve host immunity during the outbreak of epidemics, endemics and pandemics. With its immuno-modulating and prophylactic drugs and therapies, Unani Medicine has the potential to play a role in the management of pandemic like situation.

The conference will have scientific sessions on issues related to the health challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and role of Unani Medicine in addressing them. It would be an opportunity for the researchers to discuss and explore the potential of Unani Medicine with regard to the topic and come up with reliable solutions to the health problems faced in times of COVID-19.

A galaxy of experts and luminaries from the field of health sciences will share their knowledge, experiences and innovations. There would be participation from industry, academia and research organizations engaged in development of Unani Medicine and related health sciences.

The online event will provide a platform to discuss vide range of preventive and promotive issues related to COVID-19 pandemic which in turn would help in developing knowledge and understanding the role of Unani System of Medicine in the times of COVID-19.

I cordially invite you all to join us online by registering on website for the Unani Day 2021.

Looking forward to see you at this grand event.
